North America

Idaho Spud Cream Topping

To make a rich, thick chocolate topping for your favorite ice cream, just melt your deliciously flavored Idaho Spuds with milk.

In the microwave melt 4 Idaho Spuds and 1 cup of milk. This sauce may be kept in the refrigerator and reheated in the microwave for future use. For a special treat, make individual meringues, fill with ice cream and cover with your luscious Idaho Spud topping.

Mocha - for a new taste treat add 1 tablespoon of instant coffee.

Bavarian

Chocolate Cream Spud Pie

Be elegant - easily! Fill your favorite cooked pastry shell or crumb crust with a rich and light, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate filling.

In a microwave melt 8 Idaho Spuds and 1 1/2 cups of milk. Whip 1/2 cup of heavy cream, saving some for decorating the top. Add to slightly cooled mixture. Pour into pie shell and refrigerate.

Serve with pride!

 

Swiss

Idaho Spud Fondue

Do something different - be the hostess that can enjoy the party as well as serving a continentally inspired dessert. Serve an Idaho Spud Chocolate Fondue - something special they have never had before.

Melt in a microwave 4 Idaho Spuds and 1 cup of milk. Add 2 tablespoons of Kirsch, cognac or Cointreau if desired. Stir after heating to a creamy mixture and pour into ceramic or porcelain dish suspended over candle heat to keep warm.

Dunkables: With forks, spear one or a combination of fruits - orange or tangerine slices, pinapple chunks, cherries, strawberries, bananas, etc. (fruits should be well drained) - pastry - angel food cake or lady fingers cut in chunks.

French

Idaho Spud Mousse

In a mold - in a compote - in individual dessert dishes you can make the most delicate of desserts with Idaho Spuds. The blending of egg whites, sugar and chocolate has already been done scientifically for you.

Just melt in your microwave 6 Idaho Spuds and 1 1/8 cups of milk. Stir to a creamy mixture and cool a little while. While waiting for the creamy mixture to cool, whip 1/2 cup of heavy cream.

Add the whipped cream to the cooler chocolate Idaho Spud mixture. Gently pour mixture into individual dessert glasses, large serving dish or French dessert mold to invert at serving time.

Italian

Neapolitan Spud Cake

With a plain frozen or bakery pound cake you can make an internationally known dessert with Idaho Spuds.

Melt in a microwave and stir to a creamy mixture 4 Idaho Spuds and 3/4 cup of milk. Cut frozen or bakery pound cake into four layers.

Cover each layer with frothy Idaho Spud mixture, one on top of the other. Decorate with whipped cream, if desired.

Serve in thin slices as a special treat to family or friends.
