Idaho Candy Company Turns 125 and You Are Invited

Idaho Candy Company Turns 125 and You Are Invited

Idaho Candy Company has been making candy in downtown Boise since 1901. On Saturday, December 5th, we are throwing a party to celebrate 125 years, and everyone is invited.

Come find us at 412 S 8th St from 10am to 2pm. Here is what to expect.

Free Idaho Spud Bar for Every Guest

Every guest gets a free Idaho Spud Bar on arrival, one per person while supplies last. The Idaho Spud Bar has been made in this building since 1918. A cocoa-flavored marshmallow center coated in dark chocolate and sprinkled with coconut, shaped like a potato. If you have never had one, December 5th is the day to try it for the first time. If you grew up with it, come back and have one where it has always been made.

Free Samples in the Factory

We will have free samples running throughout the event. Come taste the lineup and see the factory floor where Idaho Candy has been produced for over a century.

Toffee Tours: The Second Floor Opens for the First Time in 25 Years

This is the part we are most excited about. For the first time in 25 years, we are opening the second floor of the factory to the public. Guests on the Toffee Tour will watch our team make Owyhee Butter Toffee live, using the same recipe we have had since 1925.

Tours are first come, first served. Come early and get in line. We will get as many people up as we can. A quick waiver is required for the tour, which you can sign on your phone when you arrive. Parents sign for anyone under 18.

A Few Things to Know Before You Come

Our historic building has stairs at the entrance and is not wheelchair, walker, or stroller accessible. The Toffee Tour requires an additional flight of stairs. Street parking along 8th Street is limited, but there are several parking garages within easy walking distance.

125 Years Is Worth Celebrating

Idaho Candy Company has been part of Boise's identity since before Idaho had a professional sports team, before the airport was built, before most of the city's current skyline existed. The building at 412 S 8th St has been running continuously since 1909, and some of the original equipment from the early 1900s is still in use today.

We have been here for 125 years because of this community. December 5th is our way of saying thank you.

Mark your calendar and bring the family. We will see you on the 5th. And if you want to explore the full Idaho Candy lineup before the event, shop at idahospud.com.
